What started off as a normal work day, ended up being one of the most horrifying days of my life. I was headed to work in Little Rock, headed downtown, because I wanted to go to Walgreens to get coffee creamer. Little did I know, there was one way closer to where I just recently started working. I was getting off the exit, heading downtown, the sun shining very brightly, and it had just sprinkled. Well, someone in front of me suddenly decided they were in the wrong lane. So...without warning, they pulled into my lane. I slammed on the brakes, but...it just rained. So, I was not stopping. I just kept skidding. At this point, I'm thinking, "What am I supposed to do when the brakes aren't working? Am I supposed to pump them?". Apparently I was wasn't thinking fast enough because the next thing I know, I have rammed into the back of this guy in a silver SUV. (Keep in mind, this was at a red light.) So I am just shocked, wondering what I should do, expecting this guy to get out of his vehicle and start cussing me out. But then the strangest thing happened...once the light turned green, he just kept going. So there I am stranded in almost the middle of an intersection, with my hazards on, freaking out. So, I pull over as best I could, tried to calm down a bit and I called my Dad. Who eventually was able to come out to where I was and assess the vehicle. I had a really bad water leak and the bumper was pushed in so it was rubbing against the wheel. My Dad was able to escort me, if you will, to work. I might it there barely and the engine died from overheating.

So, what I learned from this...is always be careful when driving in Little Rock, or any big city really. And maybe keep your distance. It's okay to go slow. Don't let people pressure you. Go at your own pace. A safe and law abiding pace. God is always watching us and looking out for us. I am very thankful that no one got hurt and that the vehicle was not damaged so drastically. Drive safe.
