Don't Be Fooled

I was driving to work one day, when I noticed a truck behind me! Now, I pride myself on being able to tell the difference between most Chevy trucks and my dad's work truck. I knew that this was my dad behind me. I just knew it. Although, his driving didn't seem like my dad, I just had this feeling. So, I behaved like anyone would. I started driving the speed limit and both hands on the wheel. I wanted to look like I knew what I was doing around my dad. But, when he caught up to me and didn't wave and I couldn't see his face and he finally zoomed past far enough to where I realized...this was not my dad's truck, nor my dad. I felt like an idiot.
What I'm getting at is, sometimes we want to please someone who is a pier of ours. Maybe some one we look up to. But sometimes those people can betray you and your trust and sometimes it doesn't matter what they think or they just don't care in the first place. So why waist your time trying to please someone who may or may not even care or take the time to notice that you are trying to get their attention. The only attention you need, is that of your Father. Your real Father. Not the person you wish were your father or the person you thought was. But your Heavenly Father. Obviously, you should please your biological father and mother as well and respect their wishes (there is a line at a certain age lol) But if we would just stop caring so much about what a certain person is gonna think or what they will say and we just focus on God and pleasing Him, I think life would be so much easier. Choices would be so much easier. Be a God-pleaser not a man-pleaser.
